Comments: I served in the 3-7 IN twice. I was the S3Air of 3-7 in Vietnam during Tet 1968, and Commanded Echo Company until I left to be an Aide to the Former Commander of the 199th Light Infantry Brigade as he made MG and became the J1 of MACV. I later was assigned to the 3-7 as the S1 when it was part of the 197th Brigade at Fort Benning Georgia in 1973-74. My only other connection was to assign Infantry Captains to the 7th Infantry while an Assignment Officer at Infantry Branch at MILPERCEN from 1979-81.
Comments: I serve as Chaplain at the Springfield (Ohio) Masonic Retirement Community. I share here about the death of William C. Pursch on Friday January 12 2018. There will be a Masonic Service and Memorial Service for William on Saturday February 10, 2018 at 2 PM in the Burkhart Auditorium, 2655 W National Road, Springfield OH 45504. He is to be buried at Arlington National Cemetery later in 2018.
Comments: Served with 1st/7th Infantry Battalion with Headquarters company as a 36 Kilo from 1976 until 1979 had a lot of good friends we had a brotherhood that took care of each other. I'm glad to see that there is a 7th Infantry Regiment Association, I can truly say that I am proud to have served as a Cotton Baler. And who knows with any luck I maybe able to find some friends that I served with through the association.
