Just searching through the past this 4th of July evening and did a search on the cottonbalers. I served in Aschaffenburg Germany 80 - 83 with the 1st BN/4th INF right down the road. I was an infantryman in the cold war and accomplished nothing that these fine young men today are.. I lost my infantry son (1st/502 101st ABN) in 2008.. man I miss him and the infantry..

How about having the reunion on the west coast again. Not all members live on the east coast.

I followed in the footsteps of my family, as so many of you have. I had the great privilege to serve with A co. 2nd.7th Inf. 3rd.Plt. from 86(still 2/21,gimlets until we went regimental in the later part of 87 or early 88 as 2/7, cottonbailers). "FIRST TO FIGHT". Now my son is carrying on the infanry creed, currently serving in the helmand province of afganistan with 3/2 marine division. Myself being a prior 60 gunner, my son is also a machine gunner with I.co. weapons platoon. My days and nights go by one by one, and of all the things that go thrue my mind thinking about my son. I sure wish i could turn back time and be right there fighting by his side. ( COTTONBAILER FOR EVER )!!
