Looking for anyone that has information on my grandfather. Paul K Strayer. Discharge shows him as a PFC in Hq. Co. 1st Bn 7th Inf. Regt. 3rd Infantry Div. Served during WWII. Was in Tunisia, Sicily and Italy before being wounded. It also shows he was listed as a Scout.
He was wounded in the vicinity of the Volturno (sp) river. Would appreciate any information anyone has. Thank you, and than you for your service.

I served with the 3rd I.D. in Aschaffenburg from 62-63 with B/Co of the 7th/Inf at Graves Kaserne. I have nothing but fond memories of my days with my fellow Cottonbalers and beautiful Germany. I took advantage of my furlough time to visit 7 countries. I didn't realize it at the time that i was serving with a Division with such tradition, I do now and will cherish those years that I was fortunate enough to serve with the 3rd and with a great bunch of Cottonbalers.

I was with HHC, 3rd Bn, 7th Infantry from June 1966 (Ft Benning) to Dec 1967 (Vietnam) and was the PBO. We took a CottonBale with us that the city of New Orleans had donated to the Battalion. Nice to see your website.
