Comments: Is there anyone out there who remembers when the 3/7th Infantry went to Panama in 1977 and SFC. Cook (Platoon Sergeant) was killed by a 60mm mortar round that decapitated him. I was in SFC. Atkins platoon and I remember Sgt. Lettinhand , Cpl. Roundtree and Sgt. Figurora. I was an 11-C PFC or Spec/4 RTO at the time and me and SFC.Cook were good friends.

Comments: My maternal grandfather (the closest person to a father I had) passed away December 2004. He served in H Company in the 7th Infantry Army Regiment in Korea. I only recently was able to get a copy of his DD214. He was a recipient of the Silver Star, and served as an NCO, a Sergeant. Since he passed away, I have graduated from the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, and am an Ensign in the Navy. I was a history major, and every time I see pictures, or read about the Korean War, I am always hopeful that I will see or read something about him. His service records were destroyed in the fire of July 1973 at the National Personnel Records Center. His name is Royce Elbert Hicks, born 1933, and from Helena Montana. If you come across anyone or know anything about my grandfather's history, or even the Silver Star citation, please contact me.
